  January 20, 2007: We couldn't ask for more. THE PERFECT DAY will be screened in January at the MoMA in New York City! This will be the 7th time that the film will be screened in NY. I guess they like our film in NYC. The film has actually never been screened in Mexico City, where it was made, not because of a lack of interest from us, but because no one ever invited us to screen it anywhere there (it has been screened in many cities elsewhere in Mexico).

  2007: After winning the 2006 Short Film Award by The Global Film Initiative, they chose the film to be part of their Global lens 2007 series. It will be screened at different venues in the US and elsewhere during 2007.

  November 25, 2006: On a special program, last November, it was announced that THE PERFECT DAY won the thirt place at the AXN FILM FESTIVAL. The show included clips with an interview with Bernardo Loyola.

  October 28, 2006: AXN is a cable channel owned by SONY / HBO, and is pretty big in Latin America. They organized for the first time a short film festival and invited some of the greatest Latin American filmmakers to be the jury. THE PERFECT DAY was selected as part of the 10 finalist and will be broadcasted on October 28th, 2006 all over Mexico, Central and South America.

  November 17, 2006: Somehow, THE PERFECT DAY ended up in a Mexican Films showcase at a cultural center in Tallin, Estonia last november.

  Future Shorts is an independent international organization that promotes, distributes and screens international shorts at museums, bars and clubs all over the world. THE PERFECT DAY is now part of their collection and during 2006 and 2007 will be screened at different venues. So far we know that it was screened during the summer of 2006 at some bars in Barcelona.   Sometime during 2007, THE PERFECT DAY will finally be released comercially on DVD by the same company that puts out the series Cortometraje: Mas que un instante, with the IMCINE sponsored shorts. This will be the first DVD of a series with the best Independent Mexican Short Films.


  November 28 - December 2, 2005: THE PERFECT DAY will be screened in Caracas, Venezuela during VIART 2005 - IX Festival Latinoamericano de Video Universitario, as part of the program called Muestra de Cortos Latinoamericanos del AluCine Media Festival, curated by Jorge Lozano. January, 2005: The director of THE PERFECT DAY, Bernardo Loyola, appeared in a photograph taken by renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz, next to the film director Michael Moore. The picture was published on Vanity Fair and was taken at Del Mar, CA, during the Michael Moore Slacker Uprising Tour 2004. Bernardo worked as camera man and editor during the tour.

September 21: THE PERFECT DAY was screend last Tuesday, September 21st during the IFP Market in New York at the Angelika Film Center. The jury, conformed by Hampton Fancher (screenwritter of Bladerunner), Peter Sollett (director of Rising Victor Vargas) and Brad Anderson (Director of The Machinist), gave THE PERFECT DAY the Best Short Film Award ($5,000 usd).

September 14: THE PERFECT DAY will be screened along with other short films with “non conventional narratives” at IFP Buzz Cuts in the program of Tuesday, September 14. The screening will take place at the Two Boots Pioneer Theater at 155 East 3rd Street (at Avenue A).
